hi

I've been using a twinQ for over 4 years now and I love it to death... So I thought I'd give him a little brother and I just bought a oneQ today. They are very similar obviously but different enough to justify the buying of both units ( at least to my better half... ;) ). I also bought a Universal Audio LA610mKII, and I have to say that while it's supposed to be a much higher end unit on paper, it's a whole different story in real life. It's a little different for sure, being tube and all, but the units sound a lot closer than the price tag would lead you to believe. They both have a vintage vibe with lots of character, but not overwhelmingly so. I honestly wouldn't say one is better, they have a different flavor that's all. The OneQ is the most versatile unit of all three though, so if I had to keep only one, it would be the oneQ, and that's saying a lot... The Meek stuff is on 80% of the voice tracks of my album ( long overdue, but will be finished in december ), about half of the acoustic guitars are recorded through the twinQ, and all choirs go through the TwinQ too. The OneQ will be the only processor for the lead vocal parts except for a couple of reverb, delays and chorus plug-ins...

So I just wanted to say thanks for making such great gear at a price that the average recording musician can afford.

Even if my music sucks, I know it'll sound great... :D

Chris,

Well, this is the thing we try and tell people. The Joemeek oneQ and twinQ are products that probably should sell for a good deal more money. They hold up to many of the high end units. Now, I am not saying better, but right track, right singer, right room, right engineer, and you will be hard pressed to tell any two tracks apart using a Joemeek and any mic amp three time the price.

Joemeek offers lots of features and great quality. I am glad you that you see this, and glad to know you are happy with our product...

Thanks!

I wholeheartedly agree on all points here. People tend to forget that if your units were made in the UK or the US, they'd definitely be just as expansive as the supposed higher end gear out there. And since you Q/C is top notch, who cares where they are made as long as they sound great and are reliable.

An engineer friend of mine came yesterday to try out the gear I have, and to him the most impressive unit was also the OneQ ( much to his surprise really ) because of the sound quality to price ratio that was "unbelievable" in his own words.

I'll add a link to the band's myspace and website when it's ready.
