I was looking around the web today, and saw a site mention a VTB-2. I know its supposed to be a 2 chan pre, but is it just a two chan VTB-1 or is it vastly different?

Vastly different...Its been a long haul on this project. Held up by custom transformers and just not enough time to finish it, but it is going to be finished. This is a feature rich dual channel 300V tube mic amp of very high quality.

Hey Alan, I think you should give it a different name ("Rossi" for instance  ). No seriously, you must have answered the above question dozens of times, and it's not even released yet. If it's a different animal, why not give it a different name?

AW man, I just ordered two VTB-1's from the B-stock page...I'm not gonna regret this versus the new 2 channel unit, am I?

Eric,
Don't worry. As Alan already stated - the VTB2 is a COMPLETELY different critter, from every angle (performance, specs, and even price). Your VTB1-s will still get plenty of use. Not to mention the fact that we don't even have a targeted release date yet for the VTB-2.

In the end, we can change the name. It may be a good idea to do that considering all the other VTB models out there.
