How the status of the 828
I'm shopping for a few pre-amps and the 828 look tempting
how does it compare to other simmular pre's like the octane, octomic, octopre

The SP828 has been shipping for several weeks now. Early reports are very good. Like everything, different strokes for different folks, but the SP828 was built for a reason. That reason will not suit everyone, but those who bought it so far have loved the mic amps and its sound...Not to mention its price.

The remote and film guys are really diggin them. So, so far so good. It is very clean, very smooth and transparent. It does not have any color and very neutral, but that is what we wanted. Get out what you put in....

In the early surfing days back in the mid sixties...The big Kahuna was the surf god of the beach if you will. This tag "Big Kahuna" later became known as the head man in charge, ir the chief if you will.

So, as the owner, I am the Big Kahuna! Or at least in my mind. The rest of the guys here will tell you I am just a pain in the ass...LOL
