the C1 and the TB1 both sound wonderful, but based on their descriptions i can't really tell much difference between the two. Does anyone have any advice?

I basically want large diaphragm tube mics cuz I am trying to make my records sound like beatle records :)

Thanks!

Well hell, if I had a tube mic that made me sound like The Beatles, I'd be out getting mobbed by screaming girls right about now.
The TB1 is, I feel, a very underrated mic. It's kind of a sleeper, but it does a real nice job on music and vocals.
The main differences between the TB1 and the C1 are that the TB1 is a vacuum tube mic, whereas the C1 is entirely solid state. Also the C1 capsule uses the 6µm Dupont Teijin mylar (really thin stuff) whereas the TB1 uses the 3µm Dupont Teijin mylar (even thinner). The use of the 3µm film on "large diaphragm" capsules was originally pioneered by a cat named Stephen Paul who, prior to his untimely passing, was always fairly miffed by the fact that mic manufacturers were using this piece of microphone technology without crediting him in any way. Thus, I bring forth this important footnote. The use of the thinner material has somewhat of a smoothing effect on the "Q" of the inherent peaks in the upper midrange of the mic's frequency response.
Also, the TB1 has almost twice the sensitivity of the C1, making it very responsive, indeed.
