I'm on Gearslutz, and this guy asks which Studio Projects mic is the best. Not best for the money or which is cheapest, but which is the best, so I answer him. Here's the whole thread:

They didn't seem too bad.

Let's just say that I've seen you go through worse than that! :p

Yeah, but why ask the question if you don't wanna hear the answer?

Yeah, I saw that thread as it developed and almost made a comment regarding "cheap" but decided it would be wasted on the guy.

BTW Harvey, did Alan send that "cinemag" T3 to you guys last month? If so, do you have any comments about it compared to a standard T3?

We've been so busy lately, I haven't had time to get with Alex to try it out - and I REALLY want to hear this new beast. Alex is using the C5 and he says he likes it a lot.

I'll be interested to hear your impressions so PLEASE post them here when the time comes.

I love my T3 but as it's unlikely that I'll be buying any more mics, if the cinemag transformer gives a positive result I would look at swapping out the existing tranny and trying to source an appropriate GE6072 tube.........unfortunately, to get one of the NOS 5 star triple micas, I'll probably have to import from the US.

Hey guys, well here I sit in London today, we moved to a new facility twice as big so there was lots of work of work to be done.

People are people and this is one of the reasons I am not all over the BBS's anymore. To much grief, but Brent is working on more new things and updates so we keep very busy. The new C4's are very good...handle over 150dB SPL and are very smooth.

Two new series of mics are coming and are more upscale in price. I think we have proved we can make good low cost mics, so it is time we moved on. The CS1 and CS5 are the first to realize this change. They are very good mics period. I think Alex and Harvey will like them a good deal once they have had the time with them and price will not enter the opinion this time. The CS is just a great sounding mic.....
