Mic Usage Question

Greetings,

This may sound like a silly question, but it is bugging me in the back of my head so I gotta ask...

I'm planning on using the new C1 for vocals, but I also want to experiment with it on a Marshall guitar amp. (Longer term, I might like to try the B1 on the amp instead, but for now it's a $$ thing.)

Here's my question:

Would using the C1 on the loud Marshall amp somehow alter it's sonic signature for vocals? I'd think not, but I wanted to confirm. Using the C1 on vocals is far more important to me, so I don't want to do anything that would remove the smoother high-end of the new C1s, etc.

Well, if you mic the cab up close, the mic is only "hearing" 1/4 of the four 12" speakers, so the level at the mic is only 1/4 of the total sound. I don't think you'll do any damage to the mic.

In addition, you can always toss on the pad if you want to get up on just one of the speakers. I have used the C1 for this and it was very successful...
