What about a smal diagram Tube mic ??
I don't think there is one , or at least not for the project/budget studio

There are plans for a small diaphragm vacuum tube based microphone. The power supply has been designed for this, but the microphone itself is in the design queue.

I own a pair of AKAI small diaphragm tube mics. Very few made. They're wonderful.

Tape Op mag issue No.34 published a design by Dave Royer for a PSU and mods to some other brand SDC mics that will remain nameless. Would this design be suitable for the JM 27 ?

The Tube SD's Brent is talking about are the ones in the E Series by Studio Projects. The JM27 is slated for rework soon. The JM47 is now the JM47a, and Brent deid a fuc#@!* great job on this mic... They are in production now...He is planning to do the JM27 in a couple of months. The first tube mic for Joemeek is the new JMTB-47. Brent is finishing up some things on this one, so this will be out before the Tube SD's.

JMTB-47 is a valve LD mic like a T3 if you will, but a very different sound......

my gt-44s get a lot of use in the studio. they are medium diaphragm tube condensers. unfortunately, they don't think they are being made anymore. i think there is a real market void right now in medium and small diaphragm tube mics. jump in there and fill it.
