TwinQ EQ quality

Hi all,

Need some advice on the twin Q eq section.

I ordered a TOFT AFC-2 2weeks ago coz the eq's are really good apparently and I want to use them on the mix of my latest project.

Anyway the dealer I bought it through told me there was a mistake at PMI and the unit was never shipped. :mad:
I live in South Africa and it take around 2weeks to ship.
So the dealer has offered me a TwinQ on loan till my unit arrives or to purchase at the same price as the AFC-2.

How good is the EQ on the TwinQ or should I just wait till the AFC arrives?

Yes, I know about this... This was our fault but the unit is shipping now. The AFC-2 is 4 band sweep, and twinQ is three band with two bands sweep. More control and more EQ on the AFC-2. The Joemeek is more colored. The Toft is all peaking bands, so it is more musical and the frequencies do not interact with each other.

The twinQ is good and the EQ nice. I prefer the EQ on the oneQ as it has more, but in the end, it is very hard to beat the AFC-2 for EQ...It is amazing..... Just remember, the AFC-2 does not have the compressor and stuff and it was designed to be a dedicated EQ. We just threw on a couple of mic amps to it for fun and they are great, but the AFC-2 EQ is top of line.

Hi Alan,

Thanks or the response. Do you know if the AFC will be expedited or not?
I will be recieving the twinq on loan tomorrow till my AFC arrives I'll give it a good run and may end up purchasing both... who knows.
I'll be purchasing the ATB 16 (same eq as ATC right?) when it's available so will then have a great variety of eq's and the meek comps would probably come in handy.
